LESSONS

I deliver piano lessons both online (where you work from home) and in my studio. I teach both one-on-one and in small groups of up to three students.

As a student you will be accessing a uniquely developed and scaffolded curriculum, designed to keep you engaged and progressing between sessions. This structure helps you build confidence, develop consistency, and truly enjoy your musical journey as something you incorporate into your daily life.

online lessons

Online lessons offer a flexible and convenient way to learn, with the same instruction & guidance you’d receive from me if you were here in the studio. Each lesson is tailored to your unique learning style, creating a personalised experience that supports your ongoing progress through the program.

Lessons are structured and held at a regular weekly time-slot, just like studio sessions. The main difference is you’re learning from the comfort of your own home.

To learn online, you'll need:

  • a piano or keyboard

  • a device with a camera (laptop, tablet or smartphone)

  • a stable, high-speed internet connection

Unlike many online learning options that rely on self-guided tutorials, these lessons are live, personal and interactive. I teach you just as I would if we were sitting side by side, only we’re connected by screen

Between lessons, you'll also have access to a comprehensive media library, offering additional resources to support your practice throughout the week.

STUDIO lessons

Lessons at my studio offer a focused and engaging learning environment, with the benefit of “hands-on” side-by-side instruction. Whilst many learners now thrive in the online environment and appreciate the huge convenience of learning from home, for some, meeting with me in person provides the most effective means of communicating, and helps to build the relationship between you, me and the music - especially in the early stages of learning.

Lessons are:

  • Held weekly at a regular time slot, providing consistency and routine

  • Individually tailored to your learning style, pace, and musical goals

  • Structured to support long term progress through a carefully designed program

Whether you are a complete beginner or returning to learn in a new way, studio sessions may be the optimum way to provide you with the support and structure you need to grow your musicality.

Between lessons you'll also have access to a comprehensive media library, offering audio and video resources to support your practice throughout the week.

LESSON TERMS & OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER

I teach weekly lessons in alignment with the Queensland school calendar, so there are 10 weeks of lessons in each term, which totals 40 lessons per year. Lessons are also available as an option during some of the school holiday weeks, as per individual arrangement.

One term of lessons is the minimum amount of time I recommend a student commits to, in order to fully “try out’ this approach to learning and really find out if this program is a good fit for you.

The length of time you will engage in piano lessons will depend on many variables. Learning is for life, and for many students music is a long term relationship! Some others may try a few different instruments or creative outlets whilst finding the one that really lights them up. But any immersion in music is so positive for our brains (and our hearts), that I encourage students - and their parents - to take the opportunity for as long as they can, and not be too disheartened if it doesn't go on for years… although if they fall in love with it, be prepared for the fact that it might.
